It’s one of the changing gems in the Atlantic Ocean, that has already seen it’s forever changing coastline. Nantucket is a place that reminds me greatly from when I was a little girl, beach steps away, sunny days, no care in sight.

Nantucket is no Newport Beach where I grew up, I so appreciate the history here. With the historic cobblestone streets that are sometimes un-driveble (sudden death to my heels). The old school social scene and beautiful beaches makes it a truly special and exclusive place.

As part part of our father-daughter trip we ventured off of Boston over the express ferry to Nantucket, the cutest island off of Cape Cod. Where whaling used to be it’s main source of income and is now home to some of the richest of North England.

When you get off the island, you are greeted by ancient cobblestone streets that would through my NYC cobblestone blisters for a loop, quaint houses which we later learned can only have 11 colors according to the historical society; keeping it’s architectural charm and history. It’s a little heard to break into their social circle of sphere, but they like it that way. So my long time sailor dad and I just made our own trip haha!

WHERE TO STAY

There are many Bed and Breakfast Inn’s on the island. Cute cottages turned into bed and breakfasts. We stayed at the Chestnut House and it was right in the center of the city and walking distance to everything. They had a cute deck with a private entrance that overlooked a neighbors courtyard, full of flowers. My dad had previously stayed at the Jared Coffin House.

WHERE TO EAT

Oran Mor: Head here for dinner. They have the best instagramable presentations and the food to so creative and innovative! This is their time to shine during the summer months.

The Club Car: Is an revamped old school favorite with amazing cocktails and fun atmosphere.

WHAT TO DO

Explore the beaches: Ship Beach was one of my favorites with wild roses growing along the sand and dreaming houses and private steps down. We went in June and the weather couldn’t have been better except that we missed hydrangea season… ugh my fave! Three beaches on the island have beautiful lighthouses.

Rent bikes: down by the docks there are plenty of place to rent bikes. It’s a great way to explore the island and a lot of wide roads (I find in the Hamptons the roads are too bendy and not safe).

Rent boats: My dad is a long term sailor so that is always his cup of tea, but there are many you can rent.
